A serial Murder Killer, Arrested in Rukiga district.

RUKIGA: The territorial police in Rukiga together with its sister Police of Kajjansi in Kampala have arrested a suspected serial Murder Killer in Rukiga district.

The Suspect now in custody has been identified as Isaac Niwagaba 32, a driver by profession and a resident of Rwakimuli cell, Bukinda trading center in Bukinda sub county, Rukiga district.

The suspect was arrested at around 05:00 PM on Saturday at his residence after an investigating officer in some cases Geoffrey Ongomu attached to Kajjansi police station in Kampala reported to the district looking for him.

It’s alleged that Isaac Niwagaba (the suspect), together with other suspects still at large had got involved in 4 different murders of young girls, whom they have been kidnapping and killing using a taxi registration number UAU 737 W.

It’s believed that the suspect together with his colleagues has been disguising themselves as taxi operators and after seducing people to enter their taxi, they could strangle and suffocate them with polythene bags before dumping their bodies in the nearby bushes within Kampala.

It’s also alleged that recently, Isaac Niwagaba the suspect master minded the murder of Nassali Jenina a resident of Kawuku in Kajjansi, went away with her phone with which he was arrested ready handed with, communicating with his associates.

The Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed to the Media that team of detectives from C.I department teamed up with the team of police officers from Rukiga, commanded by the DPC and mounted an operation in Bukinda trading center and successfully arrested the suspect from his room where he has been hiding.

Maate added that the suspect had just come from Kampala three days ago after committing some offences and upon his arrest, he was handed over to a team of detectives from Kajjansi police station under tight security for further management.

The Police mouthpiece told the press that after a serious search in his room, some valuable and relevant evidence were recovered and that a file connected to murder cases was also registered at Kajjansi police station on CRB 415/2024 as more inquiries continue.
