A Police officer attached to Muhanga – Rukiga Police Perish in Road accident.
NTUNGAMO: The Kigezi Regional Police have counted a loss of their own Field Force Unit officer attached to Muhanga Police detach in Rukiga district who perished in a fatal accident on Friday morning.
An officer identified as Wilson Turyahabwe 40 No. 51580 PC Wilson Turyahabwe male aged 40 died on spot after ramming into a slow moving motor vehicle No. CGO 5916AC22 from behind.
The incident was reported by Corporal Stanley Wakibi attached to Rubare police station who, alleges that Motor vehicle driven by Marcel Mbusa Wangahemuka 52 a Congolese was heading Ntungamo from Kabale reflecting signals.
On reaching the Omukenyanya along Ntungamo Kabale the highway was hit from behind by the motorcycle being ridden by the deceased heading the same direction and died instantly.
A team of Police Officers led by Stanley Wakibi visited the scene, documented it and the body of the deceased was ferried to Kabale hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
The vehicle was then parked at Rubare police station, its driver detained as well as the Motorcycle also towed to Muhanga police station with both the Vehicles pending IOV inspection.
