A boda boda Rider strangled to death in Bushenyi district. His body recovered in a Farm.
BUSHENYI: Police in Bushenyi District are investigating circumstances under which a boda boda rider was allegedly Murdered and his Motorcycle found missing.
The deceased has been identified as Asiimwe Wilson 35, a resident of Nyakatooma Village, Butare ward, Kyamuhunga Town Council in Bushenyi District whose dead body was discovered in a farm of Sarah Muhebwa.
It’s alleged that Asiimwe Wilson (Deceased) with his Motorcycle UFJ 719J was last seen on Tuesday this week at Butare boda boda stage where he picked a passenger and was seen heading towards Ishaka direction and never returning.
It was until Yesterday 25th April 2024, when his dead body was seen at a Farm along Nyamirembe River by a fisherman, one Kamukama Selestine, who immediately notified the OC Kashenyi Police Post who in turn responded to the scene.
The deceased’s body was later identified as that of Asiimwe Wilson by the Chairperson of Butare boda boda Stage one Asiimwe Kabyoga.
The Greater Bushenyi Regional Police spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime Confirmed the incident saying that the Crime scene was visited by both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, with Soco who documented it and conveyed the body to KIU Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
The Police mouthpiece added that the police observed that the deceased’s neck was soft and easily turned to any direction, an indication that the deceased is most likely to have been strangled.
Marcial further said that the police have launched a man hunt to have the suspects identified and arrested, ahead of Recovering the robbed Motorcycle.
A Murder and Aggravated Robbery incident was registered at Bushenyi Central Police station on CRB: 358/2024 as more inquiries are at hand.
