LC Chairpersons warned against appending signatures on false documents in a Money Lending System.
KISORO: The Kisoro district Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Hajji Badru Ssebyala has sounded a warning to the Local Council Chairperson against writing and documenting false and improper agreements during the Money Lending Moves.
While addressing Journalists at his offices on the Kisoro district headquarters the RDC said that they have received a number of land disputes ranging from the money lending activities, Nyarusiza Sub County being the Led area in the district.
Hajji Badru Ssebyala added that the Money lending activities have remained a root cause of economic disruption among the families in Kisoro district affecting both the farmers and the Business people where a number of people have so far lost their belongings.
“During onions planting seasons, we have a number of people looking for money lenders to assist them fund their projects in a way of buying onion seeds, paying laborers, hiring the land and in the process debts end up accumulating hence causing misunderstandings” said Badru Ssebyala.
Badru Ssebyala further encouraged the Locals to always use their little funds with hopes of getting more after the harvests or use the fully known financial institution to avoid their property extortion by Money Lenders.
