Kisoro, Uganda – The NRM administrative secretary for Kisoro district Harbert Nsabimana, has applauded residents for their generous participation in the update of NRM registers.

The update exercise, which took place from January 29 to February 1, 2025, aimed to register and update individuals who were not registered in March 2024, enabling them to participate in elections.

Nsabimana expressed gratitude to new members who registered and those who visited polling stations for updates, demonstrating the love and support Kisoro people have for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

However, he noted that polling station workers faced challenges due to slow turnout in some villages, with varying attendance levels in Kisoro municipality and other sub-counties.

Currently, Nsabimana is engaged in calculating the numbers of new members registered, including people with disabilities, older adults, and women. Once the report is complete, he will address the media to share the turnout numbers.

The NRM’s efforts to update its membership register are part of the party’s preparations for the 2026 general elections.

This initiative follows the party’s launch of a nationwide digitalization of its membership register, which began in November 2024.
