Ntungamo Bids Farewell to Former LDU Commander Joseph Mukasa Kihosho
Ntungamo – The Ntungamo district business community gathered in somber mood to pay their respects to the late Joseph Mukasa Kihosho at his home on Wednesday.
The former Local Defense Unit (LDU) commander, Mukasa, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, after suffering a heart attack.
The late Kihosho, who died at the age of 69, was first rushed to Mbarara Referral Hospital, where he breathed his last.
The body of the late Kihosho was received by his family in Cell 9, Muko Ward, Ntungamo Municipality, where prayers and an overnight vigil were held.
During the requiem mass, Rev. Fr. John Baptist Tumusiime of Sacred Heart Ntungamo Town parish described the late Joseph Mukasa Kihosho as humble and supportive toward fulfilling the obligations of the church.
Rev. Fr. Tumusiime reminded mourners not to let their hearts be troubled but to trust in God for eternal life, encouraging the family to be strong and keep praying.
According to one of his children, Councillor Ahabwe Bernard Mupenda, the burial program for the late Kihosho was finalized after consultations with the family.
On Thursday, the body will be taken to Sacred Heart Ntungamo Town parish at 12:00 pm before being transported to his ancestral home in Rurama Rwengoma Ruhaama, Ntungamo District, at 3:00 pm. This will be followed by a Mass at 4:00 pm and then an overnight vigil.
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, the final church Mass will be held at Rurama Rwengoma Ruhaama, followed by his burial in the afternoon.
