Man Electrocuted in Mother’s Garden, Kabale Police Launch Probe

KABALE – The Kabale territorial police have launched an investigation into the devastating circumstances surrounding the electrocution death of a 39-year-old man.

The deceased, identified as Tukwasibwe Ivan, was a resident of Bufuka village, Mwendo parish, Kitumba sub-county, Kabale district.

According to eyewitnesses, Ivan met his death while clearing bushes in his mother’s garden, where an electric pole with a support wire on the ground was present. Unfortunately, Ivan touched the live wire, resulting in his instantaneous death.

Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed to the media that the police were promptly alerted by area chairperson Turyahumura Nelson. Officers visited the scene to process and document the incident.

Maate added that Ivan’s body was taken to Kabale Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Afterward, his remains were handed over to his relatives for a dignified burial.
