A boda boda rider dies in an accident carrying Jerrycans of Local bear.

KISORO: The territorial police in Kisoro are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 25 year old male a boda boda rider who died in a Road Crash along Kisoro Chanika road in Kisoro district.
The deceased has been identified as Irankunda Gadi a resident of Muganza village, Nyakabingo parish Chahi sub county Kisoro district, the rider of a motorcycle UFA 876P.
It’s alleged that on Tuesday 14th January 2025, the motorcycle rider of UDA 928C was from Kisoro town heading to the Chanika side carrying Jerrycans of local brew, as was ascending the hill at Muganza corner, overtook a vehicle that was ahead of him.
While overtaking he ended up colliding with the oncoming motorcycle UFA 876P that was from the Chanika side to Kisoro town.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed to this reporter that the primary cause of the accident isDangerous overtaking and speeding.
Maate added that a team of officers Asp Kushaba Micheal DTO Kisoro Rushed to the scene and the Involved victims were rushed to Mutorele hospital for treatment and body to Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem.
