One feeding in the Police cells, others on Run for Assaulting a 25 years old Male until death in Kabale.

KABALE: The territorial police in Kabale have in its cell a suspect and launched a man hunt for others for allegedly assaulting their fellow until his death.

The Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate identified the Deceased as Richard Turinawe 25 a resident of Rwakakyeregye village, Bugarama parish in Kaharo Sub County.

It’s alleged that the deceased has been involved in domestic violence to his parents at home, as cases were severally reported to LCs and Police by the parents and was recently released from prisons over the matter.

Its alleged that on the 11th April 2024 at around 2:00 PM, the deceased attacked his step father Sinema Wenceslas and hitting his mouth which prompted the victim one Wenceslas together with Twekwasomuhangi Resita the biological mother of the deceased to hired boda boda riders from Nyakigugwe stage who caught and tied Turinawe Richard (Deceased) on the kiosk where his mother sells vegetables.

The two plus a step brother, one Mugisha and other got a hoe handle and used it to assault the deceased one by one till he started asking for water to drink.

The stepfather untied him and left the scene while staggering to the water tap opposite to the crime scene at Nyakigugwe primary school and upon taking some water, he collapsed and died instantly.

The stepfather Sinema Wenceslas together with his mother immediately sent for a coffin where the body was placed, taken home, and buried at around 08:00 am on 12th April 2024 the following day.

The Police mouse peace confided to this reporter that the information circulated until the O/c Kaharo police station was alerted about the matter and he accordingly informed the DPC kabala and a Team of detectives dispatched and documented the crime scene.

Maate added that the one Twekwasomuhangi Resta was arrested and efforts to bring to book the others suspect who are on run, are being put as investigations on going and exhumation awaits with the case now registered at Kabale Central Police station under the file number CRB 312/2024,DEF 25/2024.
