Market Tax Collector Murdered in Kisoro District.
KISORO: Police in Kisoro District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a market tax collector who was allegedly found murdered in Rubuguri Township Kisoro District.
The Deceased has been identified as Aloysius Tukamuhabwa 32 a resident of Kashija village/ward Rubuguri town council in Kisoro district, whose Murdered body was discovered on Saturday morning.
According to Tushemereirwe Gloria, the wife to the deceased, her husband left home on Friday for Rubuguri market to collect market tax dues as usual that at about 5:00 pm, went to him for some money to use at home.
Gloria added that she waited for her husband to return home in vain until on Saturday morning when she got information that her husband was found naked and dead in Rubuguri town.
She confided to this reporter that she proceeded to the scene and identified her husband to be the one dead from which she went to Rubuguri Police Station and reported the matter.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident and said that the officers from Rubuguri Police Station went to the scene of crime and cordoned it off.
Maate added that by the use of a police sniffer dog at the scene of crime four suspects were trucked and arrested to help in police investigations and the deceased’s body conveyed to Rubuguri health center IV for postmortem before it was handed over to the relatives for burial arrangement.
Police Spokesperson further called upon anyone with information that can lead to pinpoint the perpetrators, should volunteer it to the authorities for them to be brought to book with inquiries at hand.
