We have to fight generational Poverty by educating Our Children. Counsel Kiconco Katabaazi Patrick tells Muslims.

KABALE: The aspiring Rukiga County Honorable Member of Parliament Counsel Kiconco Katabaazi Patrick “KP” has emphasized a need of people educating their children in a wave of fighting generational Poverty that has hindered family growth.   

Counsel Kiconco Katabaazi Patrick said this as he joined Muslims yesterday Wednesday during Eid Al-Fitr Prayers held at Kitanga Mosque, Rukiga County, in Rukiga district.

He described of Poverty levels in Kigezi Sub Region have skyrocketed with the current report showing an increase by 27% from the last 5 years back where it was standing at 13 % all generated from generational lineage of poverty.

KP said that the only solution to fight generational Poverty is educating young ones who will after understanding will work towards fighting the vice by joining things that can bring you income.

“Poverty levels in Kigezi have remained high, as the current report shows that it stands at 27 percent doubling from the last 5 years report which stood at 13 percent. The same report shows that Poverty in families is generated from Grand Grand Parents and can be fought by educating children. When you grow in such poverty lines after acquiring education you can easily understand and work towards fighting the vice by joining things that can bring you income” said Kiconco Katabaazi Patrick.

Speaking as the main celebrant the Kabale Muslim District Kadhi, Sheikh Kabu Lule, has expressed concern over the Alcohol abuse, a vice that undermines the economic growth of the community.

Sheikh Kabu Lule added that in Islamic teachings, alcohol consumption is prohibited as it is believed to lead to various negative consequences especially domestic violence and is considered a major sin.
