A Fatal Road accident along Mbarara-Bushenyi road claimed the lives of two passengers and left the other two with serious Injuries.
MBARARA: Police in Mbarara City yesterday Tuesday registered a fatal road accident where to Passengers died on spot leaving another two with serious injuries.
According to Rwizi Regional Police spokesperson SP Kasasira Samson the Deceased was identified as Akanjuna Benson and Kanyuzi Annet who were all passengers traveling with Toyota Wish UBK 493T, from Mbarara City heading to Bushenyi side.
It’s alleged that at about 1:00 Pm at NARO junction near Stabex petrol station on the Mbarara-Bushenyi road, Toyota Wish coming from Mbarara heading to Bushenyi side reached Mile IV, the driver left his lane to the extreme right due to potholes hence colliding with an oncoming H4DF 1162 TATA box Body and overturned on the extreme right side of the road.
The Police Mouse piece said that the victims who include Mwanika Geoffrey who was a Passenger in a Tata Box Body and Twinomugisha John also a Passenger in a Toyota Wish were rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for treatment and the deceased’s conveyed to the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Kasasira added that both the Motor Vehicles were towed to Mbarara Centre Police station yard pending inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicle.
