KAMPALA-UGANDA: The Inspector General of Police AIGP (Rtd) Abas Byakagaba has warned the Marine Police officers against alcohol misuse and promiscuity.

The IGP was on Friday presiding over the graduation of 52 officers from an eight-month maritime induction course at the Police Marine Base in Kigo.

Byakagaba highlighting the threat of HIV among the officers and the entire people generated from the unhealthy behaviors, particularly alcoholism and promiscuity.

He urged the officers to uphold their duties in safeguarding Uganda’s waters and citizens, emphasizing the need for ongoing training, discipline, and professionalism.

AIGP (Rtd) Abas Byakagaba further encouraged men in Marine Uniform to be patriotic and self-disciplined, noting that their growth starts with individual effort.
