Three killed, 30 injured in YY bus accident in Buikwe

At least three people have been confirmed dead and 30 others injured following a bus accident along the Kisoga-Nyenga road in Buikwe district on Monday evening.

The accident involved a YY Bus Company vehicle, registration number, UAV 701C, which was travelling from Katosi toward Mbale.

The bus reportedly lost control and overturned at Makindu village, causing the fatal crash. According to Hellen Butoto, Sezibwa region police spokesperson, the identities of the deceased have not yet been established as the bodies were burned beyond recognition.

She confirmed that 30 injured passengers have been admitted to Kawolo Hospital and St Francis Lwanga Hospital. Butoto added that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
