Kabale District Local Government has secured 784 iron sheets and Nails to 11 Schools within the District.

KABALE: A section of Government aided Primary Schools from Town Councils and Sub-Counties within Kabale district have received iron sheets and nails Aimed at renovating the dilapidated classes.

A total number of 784 iron sheets and 237 kg of nails distributed was on Wednesday distributed to 11 schools including; Kiniogo, Kicumbi, Rwene, Mayengo, Karujanga, Kitooma, Kirwa, Nyakigugwe, Kikyenkye, Kamuronko, and Bwera Primary Schools.

Addressing the head teachers from the benefiting schools at the district headquarters, the District Chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija warned school heads against engaging in misusing the iron sheets.

He added that the aim of distributing iron sheets and nails is to improve School’s infrastructure in a way of creating a conducive learning environment for learners thus urging the headquarters to fully utilize the iron sheets.

The Kabale District Education Officer, Mr. Moses Bwengye Tumwijukye, stated that the district roofs buildings that are complete as for the government is to build the Schools. 

Moses Bwengye warned the benefiting schools against storing the iron sheets, advising schools under construction to leave the iron sheets at the district rather than keeping them in their self-made stores at the schools.

Manzi Gordon, the Kabale District Principal Assistant Secretary who represented the Kabale District Chief Administration Officer, challenged the Head Teachers to immediately use the iron sheets for roofing to avoid misappropriation.
