A K-9 Dog (Prince) in Kanungu Nabs two suspects accused of strangling an old woman to death.
KANUNGU: The territorial police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 60 years old Woman.
The Deceased has been identified as Speria Mbabazi a resident of Kasiizi village Muramba parish Rutenga sub county in Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that at around 8 PM on Sunday 26/05/2024, Speria Mbabazi, now the Late left Kakyere trading center, and on her way about 150 meters to her home, was ambushed and strangled to death using a piece of cloth.
The deceased was suspected to have had money since she had sold part of her land at 2 million Ugx and had been seen with her biological son Abel Tusasibwe 34 at the trading center buying clothes and other items.
The Kigezi Region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed to this reporter that the Police were notified and visited the scene with the police sniffer dog, managed to track two suspects who were arrested and are in custody to help in investigations.

Maate added that the Postmortem was done and the body handed over to relatives for a decent burial with a statement on Murder by Strangulation registered at Kanungu on CRB 345/2024 as Inquiries are underway.
