Kagadi man arrested for raping, murdering 6-year-old daughter
The police in Kagadi have arrested Fred Tugume Byaruhanga, a resident of Kiyonjo cell, Nyamiti ward in Muhorro town council for allegedly raping and murdering his 6-year-old daughter.
Byaruhanga allegedly raped the girl before he strangled her to death. He left the body inside the house. At the time of the incident, Byaruhanga was staying together with his daughter and had divorced from the child’s mother.
Francis Kyalimpa, a resident, explained that they had heard the child screaming for help and rushed to find out what was happening to her, only to find her lying dead inside their house.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, says, residents, together with detectives, mounted a search for the suspect and arrested him while hiding in a nearby bush.
