Kampala, Uganda – The Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, has congratulated the National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic Services (NHLDS) on its recognition by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Center for Excellence for Pandemic Preparedness.

This prestigious recognition highlights the laboratory’s exceptional capabilities in preparing for and responding to pandemics.

NHLDS works to improve the national laboratory system in Uganda and other African nations, as part of the Inter-Country Laboratory Strengthening (ILSS) project, a partnership between Uganda and the East African Community Secretariat (ECSA).

Dr. Aceng extended her congratulations to the Commissioner of NHLDS, Dr. Susan Nabadda, and her team, expressing pride in their outstanding work.

“Our very own National Health Laboratory and Diagnostic Services (NHLDS) has been recognized by WHO as a Center for Excellence for Pandemic Preparedness. Congratulations Commissioner NHLDS Dr. Susan Nabadda and your excellent team. We are so proud,” said Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng.
